US Senate
Democrat leads in a Republican seat, not final. Label on the map: “R→D?”. D means Democrats, R means Republicans and I means independents. In a label such as R→D, the letter before the arrow is the party that held the seat and the letter after it is the party that won.
- Official count not posted yet. The Mississippi Secretary of State's results page listed no November 3, 2026 results when checked on November 8, 2026. The figures below are from news reports and Decision Desk HQ, not the state. The question mark on the map means Democrat Scott Colom leads Republican Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith but the count is not final: a 1,138-vote lead is about 0.12% of the votes for the two, and thousands of mail and affidavit ballots (ballots cast with a problem to fix) were still to be counted. The mark comes off when the state certifies.
- Colom led Senator Hyde-Smith 464,926 to 463,788 (1,138 votes) per the Associated Press at 96%, at the end of counting Wednesday. Decision Desk HQ showed a 1,818-vote lead on Thursday morning. About 3,600 mail ballots are outstanding. Affidavit ballots are the big unknown: the Colom campaign estimated 15,000 and one unconfirmed report said 18,000, with about 9,000 in Hinds County. Harrison County will not count affidavits until November 10. Voters can fix them through November 10, and counties certify by November 13. Not called.
- Decision Desk HQ count at 6:38 p.m. Eastern time Nov. 4: Colom 466,464, Hyde-Smith 464,612. Its forecast still gave Hyde-Smith 91%, so treat this lead as fragile.
